Our visiting missionary group pulled out of the driveway at 4:00 this morning, beginning their 28-hour drive back to Virginia. They certainly accomplished a lot during the week. We are now 100% under roof and were able to get all of the electric pulled and the majority of the insulation installed. I lacked some blocking for the soffits to allow ventilation or else we could have installed all the insulation! The front doors have not arrived yet, but they are still coming soon. The company that donated them hasn't been out this way due to flooding at their other customer's locations. The drywall will arrive today (in about 30 minutes) and we'll begin that as soon as possible. We most likely won't make a lot more progress this week as we shift our attention to getting ready for Sunday services. In other news, the kids arrived home from camp today. From the chatter it seems like they all had a GREAT time, especially the 7 visitors. This is of course a blessing and encouragement to us! One child was hurt during the week, but it was self-inflicted. He hit his mouth with his own paddle while playing table tennis, breaking one of his front teeth completely in half. Fortunately, it seems to have been a baby tooth and won't have any lasting complications. As for the river, no news is good news. It's looking to crest about 1 foot higher than it did before the additional water was released, which leaves it short of reaching us. Otherwise, not much news to share at the moment. Enjoy the photos and have a great day!

The new building next to the casita. Everything is progressing rapidly.

The boys work on digging out the front flower boxes.

More digging and breaking up concrete scrap in the boxes.

The front is almost done.

All of the vents are cut but won't be installed until after everything is painted.

Yet more digging in the boxes.

And now time for some primer!

And yet more primer.

And perhaps a little more primer. The boys worked on this project for several hours but accomplished a lot.

While the boys paint the rest of us are busy inside building the platform for the pulpit and bathrooms.

And yet more paint.

The platform is done and the plywood subfloor is in. Now it's time for the dividing wall.

Electrical is going in!

Since we have the opportunity we added an outside receptacle as well.

Some "temporary" flooring int he bathroom area. We can't finish that floor until after the plumbing is installed at a later date.

Guess what....those boys are still painting away.

Tom makes some measurements preparing for pulling more electrical.

Braden is "helping"

Now Braden is really helping as he and I work together to pull cable for the ceiling lights and fans. You can also see insulation is going in.

More wiring going in.

The boys have made good progress on the primer. Unfortunately, they're about to run out!

Scott works on the insulation.

Mike's working on insulation also.

The electrical is all done so now I'm working on insulation too.

1/2 way there with the ceiling.

The boys got a little paint on themselves in addition to what they put on the walls.

We're ready for that outside outlet.

All of the ceiling insulation is in and ready for drywall.

This outside light box will be one of two carriage lights on the front of the building.

Time to clean up a little.

Final trim is going up on the outside.

Mike works on installing a piece of trim.

This side is "done". It won't look quite as pretty until it's painted, but all of the trim is complete, except for the vinyl rake trim.

One of the finished windows.

The kids are home from camp. Do they look happy?

More of the kids from camp. We haven't quite finished cleaning out this room from where the group left this morning.
