Good evening everyone! Well, if you're tuning in for an update, we have one for you! First, we did send the kids off to camp yesterday. We had a total of 9 kids, including our 2. That is very exciting for us, as this is the first chance we have had to send any visitors to the camp. Please pray all of the children would have a good week and be spiritually encouraged through this event. Second, in terms of the river, we have some unfortunate news. They are saying the river will be rising again as they had to open more locks at the dam due to being over capacity. I think they river had already dropped a couple of feet, so it shouldn't get high enough to affect us, but there are certainly plenty of people in our area with homes under water, and we need to continue to pray for them. Third, construction on the new building progressed well the last two days. At this point all of the walls are up and we are 99% "under roof". The shingles are done, all the siding is done and the windows are in. We still need to do a little rake flashing all the way around, as well as install the ridge vent. The front door frame should arrive tomorrow, with temporary doors installed. The permanent doors will arrive later in the week. We will actually start painting the exterior tomorrow and building the platform and walls for the bathroom and pulpit area. We will most likely pull all the electric tomorrow as well. If things go well we might even get to putting in insulation and some drywall on Thursday, but we aren't really sure about that yet. Check back for more!

August and Noah (one of the teens from Grace Baptist Church). We think they look a LOT alike!

From L-R it is Tom, Mike and Scott, the 3 adult leaders from Grace Baptist Church.

Noah, Clay, Braden and Nathaniel enjoying a meal.

The kids played Uno this night after dinner.

Nathaniel playing Uno.

Noah play Uno.

Back to work in the morning. Time to get the rafters up.

Our old septic tank is settling, so they dug a hole above it and filled it in with old concrete debris then topped that with the dirt.

Tom poses for a quick shot while hanging rafters.

All of the rafters are in.

Scott is working on hanging the 2x6 face trim on the rafters.

Mike nailing in the trim.

I'm not sure what Clay's doing, but I'm sure it's helpful.

Not sure what Tom's doing either, but I know it's helpful.

Scott is still working on the 2x6 trim.

The back trim is almost done and it's a tight squeeze!

Just a couple more nails.

A view of the rafters from inside, waiting for plywood.

Scott is busy cutting plywood.

A view from inside as the plywood goes in.

Clay starts hanging hurricane brackets.

Nathaniel helps with the brackets.

Now all the boys are working.

Now they're not working because they're posing.

One side of the roof has plywood, but the other is still waiting. All of the window openings have been cut out now too.

Another view.

The kids are on the bus and ready to head for camp. We took our 2 youngest plus 7 visitors. Braden is "Bus Captain" for the trip.

The inside wall is going up quickly.

This shows plywood on the front of the building.

Another view of the wall going up inside.

All but one of the windows is in. The last is being left out temporarily to have a place to pass tools through.

Inside view of the window.

Outside view.

This morning they are organizing everything to get ready to lay shingles.

More organizing.

More organizing.

Work has begun. Shingles are being laid.

Work progressed quickly.

We have a system going to make the work roll.

This Central AC unit was donated for the new building. It was delivered today.

The other half of the A/C system. It's old but we're told it works very well.

Now we're working on the backside of the roof laying shingles.

The outside wall is complete and the last window is in.

It's hard to see, but one of the 2x6 rafters was "reinforced" with two 2x12 rafters to help support the weight of the roof.

All of the shingles are done, they just need to be cut on the ends. All of the windows are in and the last sheet of siding is on.

Another view of the side of the building.
