Well, a couple of updates. First, as you can see in the photos we have received the lumber to begin construction of the new building tomorrow. The group from Virginia is in Texas and steadily making their way towards us, expecting to arrive later this evening. Now, on to the weather. Well, actually the weather is pretty nice. The river on the other hand is not. It has continued to rise and right now it is about 54' deep versus the normal depth of less than 10'. Voluntary evacuations are in place for La Grulla (to our east) and certain parts of Rio Grande City (also to our east). Mandatory evacuations are in place for parts of Roma (to our west). So far, nothing for our area. I did a lot of checking and was able to find a US Geological Survey website that had topographical information for our area. According to it, we should be okay. The areas that are flooding are about 10' lower than we are in terms of elevation above the river. We also have a huge bend in the river right below us that is about 30' lower than us and will swallow up a lot of water like a huge reservoir. That's not to say the river can't reach us, because it still could, but it looks a little less likely. The river is still rising and is not expected to crest until Sunday night. However, I drove to the nearest point on the river and it still looks like it needs to rise several feet (at least 5-6) in order to make it up to us, and it's only forecast to rise another 2-3 feet. So, please keep us in your prayers for that, but it is looking better! Again, we will keep you up to date.

McCoy's truck is here to deliver the wood.

He brought all of the plywood inside for us.

Another view of the plywood coming inside. All of the rest of the wood the kids and I hand-carried and stacked in the garage.
