Today the final preparations were made for the group that will be arriving next week to construct our new building. The only remaining problem was with the old footer not being level. I had a couple of guys come today and pour concrete over that footer to make it level. Because of the minimum order of 2 yards of concrete we also took the opportunity to have the front entrance to the new building finished, including an 8' x 4' stoop and an extension/completion of the sidewalk by about 28'. We hadn't planned on doing that at this point, but I believe ultimately it will prove to be a blessing as we begin to use the building more. A few photos are below. Have a great 4th of July!

Part of the old footer. The block was "recessed" between the sidewalk and the floor slab for the garage.

Another view of the old footer area.

This is the front of the building where the footer was.

The truck is here and ready to deliver the concrete.

Javier works on getting everything in place.

Just waiting to flip the switch. The concrete will begin pouring any second.

This was not a big job, but even at this size the concrete about got away from us at times!

More concrete down the chute.

And, a little more concrete.

The finished, filled footer area. It's now ready to have a base plate attached for the new building.

The guys work on floating the concrete will I "supervise". I am paying them, so I don't feel too bad.

Finishing touches on the concrete.

Everything's done and ready to go. I just need to clean out those new flower beds, but that will wait until after the building is up!

Another view of most of the work. The footer goes all the way around the building, and their was a section of sidewalk added on the side as well.
