| We've received some good news over the past couple of days in regards to the construction this summer. First, I found a local man who has agreed to haul off all of the debris from the building we are demolishing at a very reasonable price. He is a friend of our neighbor, so it also provided a nice outlet to build a little more of a relationship with those around us as well. Second, today I stopped by to talk to a man about the entry door for the new building and he agreed to provide one free of charge! They are very nice doors. We've known this man for almost 2 years and he even taught our children in a youth program when we first came here to the Valley. It was quite a blessing to get that donated. A picture of what the door will more-or-less look like is given below. Our actual door will be hand-made and customized to fit our building. He's even including all the handles, automatic closers, threshold, everything...including installation, if we want him to do it! God always provides! This weekend I'm going to speak with someone about donating some window A/C units, and I think that will go well. If things continue as they are, we may end up with a final price tag of around $7,000, which would be wonderful considering all this building will provide! In other news, it's been raining here. For 3 days. And it's forecast for at least 3 more. The weather has been giving us headaches (literally), but the water is important, so no complaining. We're looking forward to the kids finishing school soon. Just a few weeks left and then they're done for the year! Speaking of just a few weeks, in just over 5 weeks we'll be heading out for a visit with family back east. We are certainly looking forward to that time as well!! I received a phone call from a church in Virginia yesterday asking for a copy of our ministry DVD. I've been speaking with them for about 3 years about coming in to present. Never been able to work anything out, but they've now made the decision they'd like to have our DVD to show in the church and then they'll vote on support based on that! Quite a blessing. We've only had one other church take us on for support without us actually physically visiting. Nothing else to report right now just remaining steady in the work. |
