Next Update Previous Update

Good afternoon! A couple of short things today. First, an update on Addie. She had a follow-up visit yesterday and everything is "normal". Since she has not had any further fainting spells we are not pursuing any further testing. She still has headaches about once a week, but for now that does not warrant a lot of additional testing. So, wait and see. Today we received our shipment of postcards to begin our bulk mailing. 9 boxes with 12,500 postcards. Photos are below. Our first round will go out next Friday (too late to get them out today) and will continue every 4 weeks until we run out of postcards. Today was a partial work day here, catching up on yard work around the property. The weather this winter harmed quite a few plants, so a lot of trimming and such had to be done. There are some photos below, before the trimming, so at least you get an idea of how things looked, and can also enjoy a few shots of spring. Weather's been good, running in the mid 80's for highs (except for the day we were in the mid 90's). But, that will all change soon! No change on the situation in Mexico. Still a lot of violence and the government is still suggesting Americans steer clear of the entire border area, as far in as Monterrey. Not much more to share. Have a great day!

Duplicator all packed up and ready to go. It was shipped out yesterday and I'm glad to have the space back!

An awful bush in the back yard (very long, very sharp thorns). The freezing may have killed it, so we're waiting to see if any leaves appear.

Melissa's Stone Crop. It's abounding in the warm weather.

Don't know what it's called. We planted this a few weeks back. It's about 3' tall.

One of our two cacti. You can see all the new growth (the little "leaves" with bumps). These things grow like weeds.

One of Melissa's ivy plants.

Our poor Plumeria tree. It traveled from Hawaii to Virginia to Texas. Did great the first year, but the freezing weather got it this year. It may be dead.

All of the Aloe plants are blooming as well.

A patch of bamboo directly in front of the house. This is before I trimmed all the dead out this morning (again, from the freezing). Looks much better now!

Snakes Tongue along the road. This too looks better without all the dead leaves.

A different type of Aloe by the mailbox.

The garage. The important thing in this photo is the blue sign painted on the building. Someone stole our "Entrance" sign, so I painted this one.

Since they stole the freestanding sign I just "attached" this one to the building. Much harder to steal!

1,000 of the postcards, ready to take to the Post Office.

Another shot of the postcards. Everything is to "Current Resident" and the postage is by permit, so it's directly from the printer to the Post Office, with no licking, stuffing, folding, nothing!

The back of the postcards. Has a simple plan of salvation, directions and service times.
