The Geography
The Valley covers 4,316 square miles, which makes it larger than the states of Rhode Island and Delaware combined.
     

Sandy beaches on the Gulf turn into flat delta terrain through much of the interior, which then joins the Hill Country in the north and western portions of Starr county. There are a wide range of soils, most having the ability to maintain a variety of farming activity. Some oil fields can also be found in this area.

Short, mild winters with lows in the 40’s and highs in the 70’s. Long summers with lows in the 70’s and highs often exceeding 100. 30-50% humidity. Annual rainfall of 25.09 inches. Growing season of 315 to 349 days.
